FKF confirms postponement of Mashemeji Derby
The highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia has been postponed, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed. The decision comes after the designated home team failed to secure a suitable venue, with Nyayo National Stadium and MISC Kasarani unavailable due to renovations.
The highly anticipated FKF Premier League clash between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia has been postponed, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) confirmed on Tuesday.
In a statement, FKF cited the unavailability of a suitable venue as the reason behind the decision. Both Nyayo National Stadium and MISC Kasarani, which typically host high-profile matches, remain closed for renovations ahead of the CHAN tournament set for August.
“The decision follows the inability of the designated home team to secure a suitable venue for the match,” FKF said.

Fans will be eagerly awaiting the announcement of a new date for the derby, a fixture known for its intense rivalry and passionate following.
